damn u wrote a long story here lol. I agree there are differences between Socialism and Communism but there are a lot of similarities and Communism can be seen as a further level of Socialism. Altho I dont think Socialism or communism? are open for abuse of power more than other economic/political models. Look at WW2 Europe-most democratic capitalist states turned to authoritarian or totalitarian regimes. Leninism/Stalinism and the abuse of power should not be confused with Socialism.

Also, though they were once interchangeable terms, Socialism and Communism truly became different after the Bolshevik Revolution. In this day and age, it appears that Socialism does not believe a? drastic change in the character of the state is necessary, more so that it is an efficient tool that who ever is in power can use accordingly to suit their political needs.

I agree with most of what you said, but let us not confuse Socialism and Utopianism. Most Utopinanists dont believe that class struggle and political revolution are necessary for a change in society,? but rather that so long as their ideas are output convincingly enough, people will voluntarily adopt their system. Now, correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I understand, class struggle and political revolution are both paramount in the transition to a Socialist society/economy.
